FFXIV to run @ 1080p on PC and 720p on Ps3

by Kaden on Jun.21, 2010, under FFXI News

Hiromichi Tanaka, producer of Final Fantasy XIV, has confirmed that the game will indeed be caught running at 1080p. That is, however, for the PC only.

So what of the PS3 version of the game? He says that it is locked to run at 720p on Sony’s power console. “The PS3 version will be running in 720p in order to ensure performance remains high quality,” he explained, “but the PC version can go up to 1080p if your machine is powerful enough as you pointed out. We also support multiple displays, so players can use two or three displays to show that game.”

Aside from the game running on multiple displays, it will also be running in 3D for those of you that can either afford a new gfx card/monitor or a TV.

Final Fantasy XIV -Online- Announced @ E3!

by Kaden on Jun.04, 2009, under FFXIV News

final-fantasy-xiv-online4

The 14th chapter of the popular Final Fantasy role-playing series is due out next year. Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which is also slated for a 2010 release, XIV will be a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG).

Videogame company Square Enix has not released details about Final Fantasy XIV, but a trailer of the game was shown Tuesday at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Subsequently, Square Enix launched a teaser site for the game, where fans can watch the video.

Final Fantasy XIV appears to take place in medieval times including Chocobos and airships, similar to the setting in Final Fantasy XII.

Square Enix’s first online Final Fantasy title was Final Fantasy XI, which was available for Windows PCs, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. Final Fantasy XIV will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Windows PCs.

See more images of Final Fantasy XIV below the jump.

Final Fantasy XIV will be available for Windows as well as PS3 — not just PS3.

Square Enix also launced the ff14 website complete with their trailer in standard or Full HD. URL Here. : http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/
